Crabtree Creek Associates, LLC (CCA) was borne from the desire for responsible stewardship of the Western North Carolina Mountains. Zac Guy and Joel Neilson had a passion to preserve the mountain culture from which both of them benefited as boys growing up in the area. Both men were mentored by local craftsmen. Recognizing that many of them were no longer actively involved in residential construction and development, they felt the desire to preserve the mountain home tradition for future generations. The end result was CCA.
The mountain tradition is one of uncomplicated artistry which reflects a quiet strength born from deep family values and faith. The spirit of the people native to the mountains is one of pride and warmth of character. Our work is unique. It is beautifully functional. It embodies values of utility, comfort, warmth and friendship. If you listen closely, you probably will hear a whistle or song while we work. And if you are around at quitting time, you just may see us standing back to admire our work – for no other value it brings except contentment in a hard day’s work well done. We value modesty about our accomplishments yet take great pride in the quality. We know that if you look deep enough, you will see our heart and soul.
Recognizing that one’s home is a refuge – a private sanctuary from the pressures of the outside world and a place of retreat for daily renewal – CCA desires to preserve the mountain tradition and culture in the construction of their homes.
